Likes:

• basking in the sun with a full stomach - Scáth's version of a perfect afternoon, really
  
• food - this dog is notoriously motivated by the prospect of finding anything edible, although Scáth's definition of 'edible' is loose at best...
  
• observing others - Scáth is actually quite friendly, but due to his disturbing scars and lack of social skills his friendliness is seldom returned. So he tends to hunker down and watch other dogs with keen fascination.
  
• puppies - they tend to get over his frightening appearance more quickly than adults, and grow bold when they realise that Scáth will literally allow them to walk all over him.
  
• water - Scáth enjoys swimming in the lake, and has been known to catch fish there.
  
• travelling - Scáth can actually roam quite far from his usual haunts on occasion, for no other apparent reason than the fact that he can. This has caused multiple hostile encounters with pack members as he blithely cuts through their territories, oblivious to their warnings for him to turn back.
  
• touch - Scáth is a highly tactile individual, due to his touch-starved state and inherent craving for affection. Despite this, he does tend to flinch when someone or something touches him unexpectedly, as for the majority of his life touches have brought pain more often than not.
  
  

Dislikes:

• Being approached from behind
  
• Strong winds (they cause the implants in his ears to buzz and crackle)
  
• cold weather (his ears and gums ache, and he's prone to frostbite)
  

Strengths:

Weaknesses:

• Deaf - due to the faulty implants in his ears, Scáth does not hear others approaching; he does not hear the growls and barks of his own kind; he does not hear the overhead crack of a falling branch or the rustling of prey in the undergrowth. Scáth relies on his senses of smell and sight instead, but occasionally both of these have failed to warn him of impending danger...
  
• Consistently suffers from ear infections due to his implants
  
•  his titanium alloy fangs chafe at his gums when he chews things, causing him to bleed from the mouth
