History:
-Born into a litter of Police Dogs
-Passed the assessment for work in the Police Force with her two brothers. The two fussed over her and they would often play fight and tussle. She did scent work and did a good portion of her in-the-field training with her brothers in one of the woodland areas outside the city. It was whilst running in the woods in their downtime when off-duty that the three learned to hunt and track together. It is through growing up with two rambunctious brothers that Naren developed her cutting sense of humour that occasionally comes to light in the present day.
-Police Force kennels were robbed whilst the dogs were adolescents by people from the institution trying to steal more dogs to run their tests on.
-A good portion of the dogs fought back, including Naren and her siblings, sinking their fangs into one of the aggressors in an attempt to bring them down and stop the assault as their friends were battered and dragged away before their eyes. Struck by anger, the individual brought down by Naren and her brothers realized defeat, not being able to successfully restrain the adolescent German Shepherds. In an attempt to get the dogs to release and in anger at his defeat he pulled a firearm from his overalls and managed to shoot two of the dogs- killing Naren's two brothers in front of her. The thief ran as soon as their fangs had loosened from him enough for him to get up and scramble away.
-Naren continued her Police Dog training, but was visibly changed after the incident. She no longer played with other dogs or handlers after the incident with her brothers. Instead she became quiet, reserved and more short-tempered, spending what little time she had off-duty in her kennel sleeping.
-Once she reached one year of age, she was assigned her personal handler who she went on to work with for the next 4 and a half years of her life. Naren was naturally aloof to the officer at first, but after a portion of time she softened to him through their numerous successful missions on the streets. The pair were incredibly successful in the Police Force, but soon numbers began to drop as the sickness began to spread. The Police soon managed to pin the outbreak as starting from the institution on the city outskirts. After a tip from an informant, Naren and her handler went to scout the area out. Modified guard dogs were released as the pair entered the grounds, one of which was Farok, who had been triggered to attack Naren's handler. Naren got between the two, fighting tooth and claw against Farok, not realising that Farok had been a means for distraction. In her distraction her guard had dropped from her handler, and he was promptly shot on site by the human guards on grounds of trespassing without a warrant.
-As her handler dropped to the ground, Farok was instantly called off from Naren, losing his aggression immediately from a remote change in his implants. Naren, immediately breaking from Farok in order to return to her handler found him motionless, bleeding out from a gunshot wound to his head. In a panic, she nudged at him to get any response she could. He remained unmoving, and in an act of desperation Naren hauled his body from the site. She pulled him as far as she could, moving to bring him back to the police station. Once they had reached the Police station, she moved to lay across his chest, trying to share her warmth with what little he had remaining from his body. Her officer was already dead.
-Naren was returned to her kennel, used as a spare dog by various handlers, but seeing no regular faces as the numbers of the Police Force dropped due to the spreading sickness. As fewer officers began to show up, Naren worked to chew her way through the wire of her pen, pulling through and guarding the Police station in fear of another attempted robbery by the institution. She would pace the halls each day, and due to the lack of officers they simply allowed her to remain as a loose guard dog due to her persistence of escaping every cage and enclosure they returned her to. When the final human no longer came to work, Naren turned her attention to the dogs in the cages, springing the latches on each and helping them to chew their way out. After breaking out from the building she worked to care and protect her fellow kennel mates, inadvertently becoming the alpha of the newly formed pack.

Likes:
- Hunting- it is a favourite hobby of hers and a good outlet.
- Her pack.
- Sadie- Her confidant on a great deal of matters of great importance to her and the pack.
- Woodland and vast open spaces- it's a contrast to her own territory and the space in which she spent her life working.
- Rabbit- it's an incredibly rare prey for the city territory.
- Mentoring the younger pack members and new recruits
Dislikes:
- Winter- the toughest time of year in the suburban environment. It's cold, prey is scarce and it is the season where the pack is at its weakest.
- Farok
- Gunfire
- Manipulation. Blackmail and pressure from other packs is an area of extreme tension for Naren. She does not take kindly to those attempting to challenge her or her pack or compromising their safety in any way.
- Backstabbers- Liars and untrustworthy dogs are seen very poorly in Naren's eyes.
- Rash behaviour- It leads to dangerous mistakes.
- Threats- either to her or her pack.
Strengths:
- Perspective- Naren is able to provide wise counsel to others, being able to look at the world in ways that make sense to herself and others.
- Bravery- Naren will not shrink from threats, despite any level of pain, fear or resistance. She is not afraid to break away from the crowd to do so.
- Physical strength- having been used in Police work, Naren's job was to charge criminals and bring them safely to her handler. Her intensive training gave her the ability to bring full grown men to the ground with her flying tackles, she is also able to pull great weights across distances.
- Endurance- Again, from her Police work, Naren is able to chase for long periods of time without growing tired easily.
- Open-mindedness- Naren is reasonable. She will carefully consider the views and perspectives of others and weigh them up fairly, even if they are outsiders.
- Compassionate- Naren is by no means cruel. She has learned to become reserved through her mistrust of others, but beneath her exterior she is an extremely caring individual.
- Focus and drive- Once Naren has a set task in mind she is incredibly focused. This makes her particularly formidable in the scenario of a fight.
Weaknesses:
- Compassionate- Naren is not naive, however her protective nature for those in her pack can lead her to make risky decisions in order to keep them safe.
- Trust- Although she is suspicious of outsiders, Naren places a great deal of trust in her pack members. Perhaps more than is safe to.
- Reserved- Naren takes a while to open up to those around her. The only other canine whom she entirely opens up to and softens around is Sadie.
- Practical- Perhaps too practical. Naren looks at the world in a relatively black and white light, sometimes lacking degrees of sentimentality that would make things more pleasant.
- Unrest- Her position as leader and her unsettled sense of trust in others makes it hard for Naren to switch off and loosen up.
- Passionate- Naren will speak up when she is angry and feels as if there is a threat. She is quick to challenge dangerous views and this can be seen as she flares up against those who rub her the wrong way. This can happen at the monthly pack meetings in conflict with other leaders.
- Stubborn- Naren will not negotiate if her demands are not met or if there is a significant risk for her pack.
Fears:
- Losing pack members
- Being at fault as a leader or making a decision that backfires dangerously
- Failure
- Death
- Gunfire- it sets her on edge.
- Sickness wiping out the canine civilizations just as it did to the humans.
Ambitions:
- To increase hospitality between the packs
- Increase the size and power of the Maesa Unit pack
- To have a family- and not lose it this time.
- Successfully defend the territory against threats and invasions.
Personality:
- Tough- views situations in a practical light, often appearing unsentimental and unaffected on the exterior. Her emotion can, however, shine through in serious situations. She is by no means cold-hearted despite her reserved exterior.
- Disciplined. Having grown in an area where control, efficiency and working as a unit is essential, Naren leads her pack in a similar fashion. It is meticulously organised and monitored to ensure the territory is adequately guarded, patrolled, hunted within and scent marked.
- Resourceful
- Fiercely loyal
- Uptight. She can often appear on her guard and aloof to those who are outsiders to the pack. Despite this natural suspicion, she will reserve judgement on most cases.
- Ferociously protective
- Level-headed
- Wise for her age
- Feisty
- Passionate
- Has a smooth sense of humour, which can often fly straight over the heads of those who do not know her.
- Fair
- Persistent
